1968 650 BSA Lightning

BSA 650 Lightning was built between 1965 and 1972. It is also called the A65L. The engine is 654 cc, parallel twin OHV. Ziggy bought this motorcycle in original condition and recovery at 6 weeks. In October 1949 BSA announced the A10 Golden Flash. It was essentially a bored and stroked version of the earlier A7 but with revised cylinder head castings, rocker box and cast-in carburettor manifold. With its overhead valve 650cc twin, the Golden Flash was capable of a mind blowing 105mph. However, in 1954 the even more sporting A10 Road Rocket appeared and with an alloy cylinder head, high compression pistons and a high lift camshaft, produced 40 bhp with a top speed of 109 mph
