The BMW R90 was a sport motorcycle manufactured in 1973 that survived in the market until 1976. It came in two models. One was the R90S, that at the time cost $6,139; there were 17, 465 of these produced. The other was the R90/6, with 21,097 produced.

The BMW R90S Sport 1976 900CC has a four stroke, overhead valve boxer engine which has a compression ratio of 9.5-to-1 and 54.8 cubic inches of displacement. This engine has two cylinders and for every cylinder there are two valves. The cylinder's bore is 3.5 inches and the stroke is 2.8 inches. All of this generates 67 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 56 foot-pounds of torque at 5,500 rpm. After this power goes to the wheels through the five-speed transmission, the bike can reach speeds of 124 mph and accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. The R90/6 has a compression ratio of 9.0-to-1. It can produce 60 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 53 foot-pounds of torque at 5,500 rpm.
